What should I bring and wear to class?

Bring a water bottle and wear something breathable and comfortable. Most members opt for a T-shirt or tank top to keep cool, and shorts or form-fitting pants which won’t interfere with the pedals.

What type of bikes do you have?

Stittsville: ICG

Elgin: Schwinn

What type of pedals do your bikes have?

SPD and Delta.

How early should I arrive to class?

We recommend 15 minutes, and 20 minutes ahead of time if it’s your first class. We’d like to give you enough time to register/check in, and walk you through how to clip-in and adjust your bike. And if it’s your first class, we’d love to give you a tour of the studio.

Can I rent spin shoes?

Yes, we offer complimentary shoes from size 6 to 13 men and women. Should you decide to wear your own shoes, Stittsville accommodates KEO cleats or running shoes (in basket) and Elgin can accommodate SPD and Delta cleats.

Performance Metrics and Tracking

Our in-studio leaderboards gives you the chance to compete against others and track your performance during class. But no pressure – participation is always optional! The leaderboards are not available at our Stittsville location, however you can download the ICG app to keep track of your rides and results.

What do the 5 different Zones mean?

The Zones are based on RPM (revolutions per minute), and change colour in class as your RPM changes. Another way to think of RPM is your speed.

  • Grey: Zone 1 (0 to 40 RPM)
  • Blue: Zone 2  (41 to 65 RPM)
  • Green: Zone 3 (66 to 75 RPM)
  • Orange: Zone 4 (76 to 90 RPM)
  • Red: Zone 5 (91 to 300 RPM)
How do I earn Effort Points?

Effort points are earned based on the watts generated. They are also earned based on the time you spend in a given Zone. The more points generated, the higher you will be ranked.

How do I keep track of my results?

After every Wheels class you will receive an End Of Class Summary email including all important stats from your class. You can also track your progress in the Barres and Wheels app. Simply go to Profile Past Classes.
